Weekly round up.

Welcome back to the Spring Term!

Spring may be the shortest term but that doesn't mean to say we are any less busy - we pack it all in.

Phonics next week - /oa/ oe ou toe, goes shoulder, boulder,  /igh/ y fly, cry     /oa/ ow snow, grow,   /j/ g giant, magic , /f/ ph phone, dolphin , triumph, and tricky words - any many again, who whole where two

Maths - the next few weeks is all about place value within 20  where they will begin to understand that teen numbers are made up of 1 ten and x ones.  Later in the term they will then be doing place value to 50 therefore it is crucial to have this knowledge firmly embedded.

Science this term is all about animals and classifying them into mammal, bird, fish, reptile and amphibian - its always a popular topic.

In English we are reading Katie Morag and the Two Grandmothers. This will link in with Geography on map skills, using a key on a map and compass points. DT will be to design and make a model vehicle for Grannie Island with focus on axles and chassis. The forecast is not great for the next few weeks so I'm sure during a wet playtime or two we will watch some episodes of Katie Morag on Cbeebies - I apologise in advance for the ear-worm of a theme tune!

Finally please don't forget PE kits on a Monday & Wednesday and to name all clothing. We are doing gymnastics with the PE coach on a Wednesday and cricket on a Monday.

Thank you for your support.
