Week 5-

Thank you very much for coming to our stay and play session- the children love to have their adults to play alongside them.

This week, we have looked at different versions of the story Three Little Pigs- looking at the similarities and differences between each book. 

We have made a start on Nativity practises this week. The children are working really hard trying to learn the songs.

In Phonics this week, we have finished teaching all of the Autumn 2 sounds. Our new sounds this week are sh, th, ng, nk. The children will receive a handout in their bookbags next week with all of the sounds we have learned over the last few weeks, and a handout of the Autumn term tricky words for you to practise at home. 

In Maths, we have looked at the difference between day and night. We used the story 'Day Monkey, Night Monkey' by Julia Donaldson to support understanding. We have also looked at our daily routines and sequenced each activity in order.

This week, the children have gained an understanding of the word 'democracy' as part of UK parliament week. The children have had the opportunity to vote in the classroom for a song and for the book at story time. We also enjoyed taking part in the whole school vote for the activity on Friday afternoon. The choices were: ice creams, film or party games. The result will be revealed this afternoon- and the children will enjoy the activity with the most votes!

Friday 5th- Pantomime in school 
Monday 8th- EYFS disco
Tuesday 9th- EYFS mini pedestrian training 
Thursday 11th- EYFS Nativity 2pm in the school hall 
Tuesday 16th- EYFS Christmas party
Wednesday 17th- Christmas jumper day and Christmas dinner day
Friday 19th- Whole school worship in church and last day of term.
