Welcome back after the half term holiday. A busy half term ahead. 

In English we are reading "Traditional Tales" and for the next 2 weeks we are looking at Rapunzel. We will be linking in our DT by designing and making a tower for Rapunzel - today we tried some out using blocks, next week we will be learning joining techniques in order to make our towers of cardboard secure.  

Phonics next week - (oa) o  - most, post, (igh) i - child, kind,  (ai) a - paper, acorn, (ee) e - being, fever. Tricky words - your, people, their, oh, Mr, Ms, Mrs. 

In maths we will be starting subtraction  which will draw on number knowledge of part, part, whole for example if we know 3+4=7 we also know that 7-3=4 or 7-4=3. 

Finally - we have lots of children who have laces in their trainers but hardly any that can tie laces. PLEASE teach your child to tie laces if they are wearing them for school. Please also practise zipping coats up now we are heading into colder weather.
