Can you believe we are a half term down already!
We have completed our Hockney inspired landscapes and they really do look amazing. We even used paintz.app and worked in pairs to create one on the Chromebooks .
As i mentioned to many of you at parent's evening - here are the phonic grapheme/phonemes we are focussing on the first week back. ir (ur sound) -bird, girl, ie (igh sound) cried, pie, tie, ue (oo sound) - blue, true and then u (yoo sound) - music, unicorn. Tricky word focus - here, today, one, their, people, oh, your.
Autumn 2 is always a fun (and frazzling ) half term. Our literacy focus is Traditional Tales, History is the Great Flood of Driffield - we will be donning our high vis again to walk the areas affected and hear stories of floating beer barrels and sheep on beds!
And of course - Year 1 do the Nativity in church at Christmas so be prepared for plenty of singing starting mid November.
We hope you have a lovely half term break. Thank you for your continuing support.
