The children had a lovely (if damp) day at Elmswell and looked for signs of Autumn with Farmer John. 

This last week in science we tested our sense of taste by eating various things to see if they were sweet, sour, bitter, salty, savoury. We were so proud of them for tasting most things. Surprisingly lemon was quite popular!! Next week we will be testing our sense of smell.

In maths we have been using the symbols to compare numbers greater than, less than and equal to. Next week we are moving on to partitioning numbers to 10 using the part part whole model ie 4 is a part, 3 is a part and 7 is the whole number. 

In phonics we will be reviewing the last 5 weeks of all the phase 3 sounds from EYFS and chunking longer words to read such as rooftop, farmyard, earring, airport. 

In computing we are getting confident at logging onto the Chromebooks. We are using the paintz.app to create pictures and we will be adding text to a picture.
