Weekly round up.
Welcome back and hope you had a great half term. This next half term is a very busy one!!
This week in phonics we have been learning some alternative spellings of graphemes we have learned such as (ur) ir, (oo) ue, (igh) ie, (yoo) u as in unit, unicorm.
Next week the focus is (oa) o and words such as open, post, (igh) i and words wild, kind, (ai) a and words such as later, acorn and finally (ee) 3 with fever, secret.
In maths we are moving to subtraction and fact families. This is when the whole number and both parts can be split into different number sentences for example 4+6=10, 6+4=10, 10-6=4, 10-4=6 , 4=10-6, 6=10-4.
English focus is traditional tales and we have been reading Rapunzel. Science is focused on materials and the properties of materials. History is the Great Flood of Driffield.
We have finished the art focus on Hockney but I've attached a photo of a display - they look fabulous.
Have a good weekend.
