25 October 2024 (by schoollogin)

What a great first half term we have had in The Hive. The children have surprised us with how quickly they have settled in and adapted to The Hive.

We have lots of lovely things planned for the next half term and will continue to update you on Tapestry with what your child has been doing in school, please feel free to comment on any of the uploads (as some of you already are doing)

The nursery rhyme for the first two weeks back will be sent home once we are back at school, but do keep listening to the three we have covered so far Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat and The Grand Old Duke of York and record any listening or reading of books in the reading records. Reading for Pleasure books will continue to be changed on a Monday. If your child has a favourite story book you would like to send in for us to read at story time then we would love for that.

The Squiggle me in to a Wiggle last week was super tricky so we extended it over two weeks – it was trying to hop to the song ‘Hop Little Bunnies’ The following movement will be jumping which I am sure all of the children will enjoy.

In Math’s we have continued to explore more than and fewer than and the same and will be moving on to exploring and building with shapes as our Mathematical development focus.

Thank you for the Autumn treasure bags – we have enjoyed spending 1:1 time with the children looking at them and had a lovely range of things to look at, especially an impressively large pine cone!

Our topic next half term is ‘Colours’

I hope you all have a lovely half term break and look forward to seeing everyone back after the week off.
